Ouch

Q: What has four legs and an arm?

A: A happy pit bull

First Shabbos

I don't know about you, but I always find my first shabbos away from Nageela to be really hard. Aside from the fact that my hosts thought I was nuts when I wrapped myself in a talis and started speaking yiddish during lunch (for some reason the pickle juice ceremony didn't bother them), I miss seeing all you guys with that awesome shabbos energy - amped up.

I hope you all brought shabbos home in some way. If there's any way any of the Nageela staff can help or advise you, drop us an email.

Ah, the good times...

Would you like some fries with that?
What would this summer have been like without good old Dave?

Vegas

Just arrived home in Las Vegas a few hours ago... Fist thing I did (after making sure Tova and Zahava had pacifiers) was set up my comp so I could post on the blog. It was about 108 degrees here today. Thats pretty cool for August, so we're in good shape.

Started reading the yearbook last night but didn't get too far. Great articles so far. You big old softy, Jeff.

Mazal Tov

Just got back from Yaakov Simanowitz's wedding. It was awesome! Great to see all you guys who showed up for it.
I propose we have a wedding every two weeks or so just to keep the camp spirit going.
Who's next?

Home Again

What a strange mix of emotions. Leaving camp, coming home. Happy, sad, ticklish.
Waht am I talking about? I don't know. I was up all night binding yearbooks and burning CDs and it's been many hours since my last Mountain Dew.

But camp is empty. It's kind of depressing. Just a few hours ago it was full of the sounds of life, and now all I can hear is the horse chewing on somebody's croc that he left. Or is that an iPod he's eating? Hard to know.

How is being home? Post a comment to let us know.

Almost done

We're wrapping up here in camp. It's kind of sad, seeing everyone pack up and get ready to leave. I'm sure everyone is excited to see their families again tomorrow, but it will be bittersweet, as we've all enjoyed camp so much.

Oh Say

Here's a picture of Nageela's very own Rabbi Staum singing our National Anthem at the Binghamton Mets game, last Thursday.

What a Trip!

It's past 2 AM, and I'm just settling in to type this after an incredible 2 day journey deep into upsate NY. Here's how it went.

  • We arrive at Letchworth State Park (near Rochester) and eat a picnic lunch
  • 5 mile white water rafting trip down the Genese River, including beautiful canyon scenery, waterfall, and rock scrambling
  • BBQ supper

Wednesday - Niagara Falls

  • Observation Deck
  • Maid of the Mist
  • Lunch overlooking the falls
  • Walk over the footbridge to Goat Island
  • Cave of the Winds
  • Getting soaked on the Hurricane Deck
  • Arrive safely back in Nageela.
